Beta contents
First things first:
This last week was very rewarding… Such a response after my very first “serious” project release… As a hobbyist game developer I never made public my games and actually I was a bit afraid of doing so and see no interaction whatsoever. But I can’t complaint about this first step, so I’ve decided to keep posting from now on here once a week to share with you the status of this game and have some more chat with people who loves games as I do. I do this project alone in my spare time so the development won’t be very quick! But I’m putting all my hearth in this <3
Now for the actual geeky stuff:
After all the comments received until now I have many ideas on how to go from here. There is a number of ideas that I want to deliver to the beta version. Let me know what do you think:
- Level selection menu (alpha 4) This one is BIG. It will be the main hub of the game offering you some information like the level name, best time, perhaps an image. I really want this menu to be a rewarding experience of unlocking player’s path to enlightenment. Decorations are left to future beta versions before releasing.
- Badges. (alpha 5) As a demonstration of your skills you will be awarded with badges that will show up on the “main character”. I was thinking a set of belts like in Judo.
- 45 levels. (beta 1) Those will be much more extensive and challenging with better design and new obstacles. Decorations are on the path for future beta versions so that aspect won’t be important for the next release.
Additional things I will introduce that are not yet clear when and how:
- New music. I’m really looking for somebody to support me there since I’m not good at that. If not I perhaps I showcase more openly licensed creations. The them being used now from LATASHA fits really nice!
- New decorations. The style of the game universe is clear, but some more variety will increase enjoyment.
- Sound effects. This is a though part! Happens the same as the music, but in here they should be really curated before they are released since a big part of the personality of a game is the sound!
Note: I made public some devlog drafts that I never published. They are not in order, but I just wanted to make them public for you to see the process of this project.
Enjoy!
